Medium or large GT Traffic 2.0?

Hi,

I have got a super good deal on mail order on the GT Traffic 2.0 and have chosen to go for it.

I'm trying to decide between a Medium or Large, obviously would be better to try it out but I can't as nowhere local to Brighton stocks it. My riding will mostly be around Brighton, in and out of the lanes and at weekends distances of 5 miles or less.

I'm 5ft 9.5 with a 33 inch inside leg.

Geometry sheet http://www.evanscycles.com/product_document/file/9a5/935/e18/758/gt-traffic-geometry-data.pdf

I've tried and tested the Globe Specialized Vienna and I was probably half way between a Medium & large, the large was more comfortable and I felt less cramped and more open but felt rather bulky and awkward.

Also, might be worth mentioning I'm going to be using this bike after ACL knee surgery so want the bike to be as comfortable as possible but also need it to be relatively nimble.

Any advice appreciated (though I'm dead set on the Traffic 2.0!)

Thanks, Rich

  • Your size points to the large, and even better, you've tried it and it feels comfortable. I'm 6' 2'' and went for the XL, although Avalanche model.

    Go for it.
