Sore sitbone - just one side. Ideas?

Chaps,
I've started getting a bit of saddle soreness, but just on one sitbone. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be down to my body's shape? A muscle imbalance?
I'm thinking of buying some chamois creme tomorrow to see if that helps. Fingers crossed.
(I ride a Spesh Phenom SL, which I was measured up for at a Concept Store)

Or you could look into a saddle which molds to your sit bone ie Brooks. I've seen one Brooks all lop-sided, the owner said that's because it's shaped to him.Say... That's a nice bike..

You may have a 'twisted' pelvis i.e. you are putting more weight on one side or the other - could be down to a number of things e.g. variation in leg length, muscular imbalance, mis-aligned sacro-illiac joint - if your condition doesn't clear up may be worth consulting a physio or bike fit specialist.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

How far have you ridden on the saddle & are you used to road bike saddles?
My Toupe Gel didn't feel that comfortable for a good while but now feels great (or at least it did until an accident broke my pelvic "sit" bones - now feels slightly uncomfortable but I've only done 3 rides since the accident, so hopefully nothing permanent).
I'd take anyone's recommendation for a new saddle with a pinch of salt - saddle choice is incredibly personal, so if someone finds one they like it's immediately "the best thing ever" but YOU will quite possibly utterly hate it. Only thing to do is try them out - for a good few miles of riding0 -
the saddle could be too high or the cleat adjusted in or outwards? try changing things one at a time good luck0

Thanks for the input. I've ridden a good few miles on the saddle - some rides, I'll be fine and then other times it'll bother me.
I do have one leg longer than the other - my right leg is shorter and it's my right sitbone which hurts. I also suffer slightly from stiffness in my lower back and top of my right leg if I lapse with my stretches. I wonder if it's all connected?
Where you would think riding often would 'harden' the sitbones, this can often cause me problems and I need to miss a day or two.Ben

Well on waking this morning, I think it's more the classic saddle sore i.e. appears to be only 'skin-deep'... so I'm gonna pop to the LBS tonight and grab some chamois creme and see how that goes.
Over Thursday, Saturday and yesterday I did about 130 miles... although I usually clock about 150 per week, it's not usually bunched like that and after two weeks off the bike so I might have a likely cause there.Ben
