Anyone got any experience of good trails and bike rental in or around Banff? Gonna be there back end of September and will need to get a good bike fix.

    Long time since I rode there 1997, rented a Spesh FSR which weigherd a tonne on the main street in Banff and rode some trails near Lake Minnewanka (yep real name) and round the Hoodoos, they were OK but not outstanding, you can't really ride off road in the national park iiirc.

    Canmore is where it is at round there, it's very close but not in the park, good trails as far as I know, google the Nordic centre, pretty sure Canmore has lots of rentals.

    If your flying into Calgary there is a Bike park at the Olympic ski jump, with a big rental shop too.

    Watch out for the Bears!
