Ribble have the Mavic Pair Wheels Ksyrium K10 for £555. But apparently they're ugly. And I don't know much about wheels, except I know they're round. Just bought a pair of Vento Reaction for £115 well chuffed. :P

If you can stretch £50 more have a look at the mavic r sys premium. Had a blast on some and they were very very good.

The dura ace 7850 cl24 are also nice. Light and extremely comfortable, they make my steel bike feel like a carbon.

Is there any feedback available on the later versions of the r-sys wheels - I have a concern about the fragility of the carbon spokes - either on the road or through some silly mistake if the bike were to fall over or when carrying the bike in the car.
What do they offer over and above what the cl24's have going for them?
I'll not be buying until spring next year but starting to gather some thoughts!!

I recently bought a pair of DT SWISS TRIGON wheels. They are very light and handle the rough roads of Tenerife no problem. They cost me 900 Euros (in Spain).

They are very stiff and comfortable. The da are more comfortable, the r sys are stiffer. Both are awesome IMO. I'd be very tempted at the £600 merlin are currently selling for but i dont think they're worth an enormous amount more than the da so would depend on price. I'd like another go on some for sure
