Hi Folks,

- Do many people wear the livestrong colours off the bike? I'm obviously wanting to wear them off the bike considering the price?
- If I get the livestrong colours can I remove the yellow piece somehow?
- Would you advise on getting the polarised lenses?
- I take it that a pair of clear lenses are included with the glasses?

Apparently, £25 is donated to the livestrong foundation for each one bought.

  • You won't get clear lenses to the best of my knowledge unless you pay for extra lenses.
The glasses come with black iridium lenses as standard i think, I have a set of VR28 black iridium lenses for my Jawbones and they are the business.
As far as the yellow section of the frame is concerned it looks like an integral part so you wont be removing that!

so send Livestrong a cheque for £25 and then buy a cheaper pair of shades....you will still be better off....

WTF are you talking about. You'll look like a total d**k.

I'd advise getting blacked out lenses. Leave the yellow bit on though.

Actually, is this a serious post?

Yes, it's serious. Of course the clear lenses are only for the bike. I'm surprised you'd think otherwise. My question was whether people tend to wear the livestrong colours outside of cycling.

Why clear lenses on the bike?

I wear my livestrong radars off the bike, hoverer it's not at all obvious that they are livestrong ones. They just look like black radars with yellow ear socks and O logo. Only place they say livestrong is etched on the left edge if the lens. No one has ever noticed. I wouldn't bother with polarised lenses as there are some reports of man hole covers and other objects looking strange.

The yellow rubbery bits come off easily and can be swapped out. I have standard flak xlj's and they didn't come with extra lenses, I had to buy them seperately. I personally wouldn't bother with polarised lenses unless you are using them for water sports as well. I have both types and it doesn't make much of a difference on the road and the polarised do make potholes look a little odd but not to the point of distraction.

The polarised lenses are good for seeing through windscreens, where the driver would normally be obscured by glare. Really helps to see where they're looking, if they're paying attention, if they've seen you etc
