Advice required for a cyclocross frame

Hi,
Some advice needed. My main bike is/was a Voodoo Limba. I say was because this afternoon, whilst cycling back to Waterloo station, the lower tube cracked. This is the second frame I have cracked on this bike in the exact same position. I'm 6' 3" and around 15 stone.
The bike is still under warranty, but i got it very cheap because the front brakes juddered excessively and my suspicion is that the front fork has too much flex which is in directly placing undue strain on the frame. The last time the frame cracked, my local Halfords rebuilt it , but we're talking 5 months lifespan.
I will take it back and discuss the matter with them, and again try and get the frame replaced, but I am considering asking them to swap it out with a different frame.
Is this a known problem with Scandium frames? Am I better going for Aluminium or Steel?
What is a good frameset for around £300-£400?

Thanks for the advice. I should have mentioned that I fashioned a similar solution using a specialized mounting bracket for a tricross and a straddle arm I picked up in halfords. This all but eliminated the worst of the judder. However, there still is, should I say 'was', loads of flex in the fork.
ChainReaction Cycles have the Kinesis Crosslight 5T and Pro 5 for much the same price. I guess i could start with the frame only and see how it feels and if there is still too much give, opt for a kinesis alloy fork.0 -
I have a Focus Mares that I bought in the sales, it seems ok. I was looking at the Kenisis range prior to this as they are designed for british conditions. Think Chain Reaction had a nice Iron Horse if memory serves correct.
I think now disc brakes are legal, most of the new bikes will have mounts in the future0
