Beautiful day. Nice climb, pointlessly positioned, unless you are

Petachi ahead of Cav?0

Cavendish 2nd.0

Pettachi for the win, but that looked a little dodgy to me!0
-
That finish came very quickly0
-
Cav just boxed in. Had the speed but no shot.
Now - if the situation was reversed and Cav did that to Petachi - Cav would probably get DQd0 -
So, what happens there?
Given what we have seen this season, Petacchi will be DQF'd and the win will go to Cav.
Good to see the Manx man didn't get all hysterical and start waving his hands about, like a few others, recently."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Chalk another one up for the Teflon Don, assuming the commissaires don't DQ him. He did seem to veer a bit towards the barrierLe Blaireau (1)0

That looked as bad as what Cav has been DQ'd for in the past.0
-
I would think because he drifted 'gradually' rather than sharply - he'll get away with it.0

Don't think it was that bad to be honest more of gradual drift to the right a bit unlucky for Cav to be boxed in as Harmon says.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
Cav simply didn´t have the legs.
Or: considering the fact that he "only used 85 percent" in the Tour, this probably is some kind of sneaky tactic as he obviolusly uses only 75 percent..."Wo ist mein Fahrrad?"

Sprint was fine. Cav had the legs but allowed himself to get boxed, he didn't really have to slow down but just had no way out. Probably needed to give himself more room on the barrier side.0

Petacchi tends to deviate from his line quite a lot. For sure he blocked the clear path for Cav, not dangerously, but enough for the close out. Cav wasn't even out the saddle so my guess would be that Cav would have taken it had he been clear.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Petacchi's sprinting has gone off line for years. In the Renshaw stage in the Tour he went from barrier to barrier, cutting off Farrar. But he never crashes, so no-one really notices.
I think sprinting infringements in sprints might be becoming like fouls in the penalty area in football. If you make a conspicuous fuss, you get the decision and if you don't, you don't.Twitter: @RichN950
