Argh!!!

Due to severe lack of planning and funds I find myself the owner of a lovely new carbon steed, however this beauty lacks any wheels and as I mentioned the bank of itboffin has closed it's doors.

Do I squeeze the very last drop of credit from my battered credit card and buy some cheap arse Fulcrum or Mavic

or do I take the planet-x C off my commuter?

Bling wheels are not an option this year
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

    Use what ya got!!

Wear them out - claim to the wife how you struggled against adversity and in severe pain because of a lack of deent wheels - hey presto, decent Xmas gift of Fulcrum 1's!

The latter, otherwise you'll just have another set of cheap wheels you don't really want, and buy the bling wheels next year anyway.

  • Oooh, that's not a nice choice! I hate to think of a tarty, carbon road bike, dripping with Record that has to put up with the shame or running 32-spoke commuter wheels. Have you considered the Pro-Lite Bracciano wheelset (currently under £200 at Ribble, if you add in the various codes)? They are very well received by the press, and very light indeed for the money.

I'll let you know more when mine arrive. ;)
