Sram X.7 or X.9 Rear Derailleur

As my jockey wheels have worn out on my X.5 Mech, I'm now thinking of upgrading rather than repairing.
The new mech will be paired with my X.5 shifter.
I can get an X.7 for £35 or the X.9 for £50.
Basically is the X.9 really worth the extra cash?
I'm not bothered about weight and would take strength and performance over saving a few grams.

When I replaced my knackered X9 a month or so back the shop suggested that this year's X7 was a vast improvement on previous years and there was no reason to spend the extra on X9. He went so far as to suggest that they'd had some problems with the latest X9s..
Admittedly the X7 does look a little industrial, but it does the job perfectly well.0 -
I have used both in the past and had no problems with either. Take the cheaper option.Interviewer: ‘So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?’
Frank Zappa: ‘You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?”0 -
+1 what Sleepycol and meesterbond said. The difference between them, purely in terms of function, is cosmetic.0
