Yesterdays ride, very hot, even the breeze.
Mrs text me it was 32.5 on the car thermo...Felt like it climbing Cilgwyn Mountain too!

Hot again today, so hot I couldn't sleep. ( This is the warmest Summer I've ever known.)
Nice clear sky at 8.50pm last night to see the International Space Station zooming over again.

No complaints though, just hope Feuerteventura is as hot in 4 weeks.
Thinking of taking the hardtail, as there's a great jeep track from our resort to huge volcano.

Yep, gonna get onto Flickr asap.

Had to change the saddle, or I would be "A laydeeeee..."

Tubeless sorted, no Eskar leaks, but wheels a bit heavier than I wanted.

New Thudbuster is ace, nice and smooth when you adapt to the feel.

Agree Surfbum...when I lived in Witham/Marks Tey, we had actual Seasons!

Every year for 9, REAL Seasons, so it's unusual to be hot here in Sept.

But, we used to go to an OE centre for 2 weeks in S.Wales in Sept with my school.
I can recall hot days walking thro Kenfig/Porthcawl then too.
    Talking the late 60's/early 70's.

    1. Returning from Broomfield, she hit a water patch, span 3 times, collided with the central reserve! Orion with boot became hatchback.

    2. Other was in Cardiff, guy going the opposite way had heart attack, smashed into her side.

3rd was in Newport, handbrake on Trans Am broke on a hill, smashed into her parked car.

Saw one crash on the A12, Rasta and girlfriend turned the car over. Stunk of booze/dope.
Had to give first aid/get emergencyservices etc.
Went to court and his "defence" was, a fox ran in front of them.
    He got off...

Yep, summer has officially started in wales, the very second that schools started back.
I was actually unaware of it yesterday since I spent most of it in an air conditioned studio. When I stepped out to make a brew I thoguht the building was on fire.
Last night was also uncomfortably hot.

    good stuff.

Hmm why is it on a weekend that i cant get over there  Mind you if i did that would end your summer. as like i said when i go it rains.

One trip to wales i did and i was at CYB and it was sunny, it was two days after my brother broke his collerbone at chicksands so i was all nervouse like. i did the whole draggons back in full face and body armour from head to toe. i have never lost so much fluid in my life, and i got through 2.5ltrs of water in my back pack!

  • This whole week's weather has been pretty awesome. Bearing in mind how much time I spend outside riding and stuffs, I was quite surprised to see how red my nose was on Wednesday evening after spending the afternoon in Cardiff Bay with the grandkids!

Similarly, the tan lines on my legs has become a little more defined after yesterday's riding around Cowbridge/Welsh St Donats.

Today though, it's a bit foggy/misty/cloudy. Hopefully it's warm up and clear up later.

i love the warm weather for the dry(er) trails.

but gosh darn it is there anything worse than warm pillow, in a warm bedroom. sleeping is like a chore, just a period of time i must tolerate untill its light again.

Hottest I've ridden, 41 dgrees in Zakynthos, Greece.

Hardtail with Full face, riding through olive groves at midday.

Stopped for a thorn puncture, took the helmet off...was like someone had turned a tap on!

Yer the warm weather is awesome!

It's not warm here though!!! Last summer I was riding in mid 30's in Slovakia, was OK I just drank a LOT.

And they have a miracle beverage called Kofola that sorts you right out if you're feeling off!

As for sleeping in the heat, umm, just pass out and sleep as normal I'm not sure what the fuss is all about!!!

when i lived in tenerife there would regulary be these things called calimas where the temperature would go into the high 40's 24hrs a day.

i had no problems sleeping, but maybe that was because of the copious amounts of alcohol i'd drunk

In all honesty I would ride, but I'm rubbish and would want to ride with someone rather than on my own so I don't. The most I do it ride over to my Grandparents in the next town along.
  • Hmm so get some riding buddies.

there as a bunch of posters on here a year or so again who seemed to post more than they actually biked it wiereded me lol :p

I was never a biker though, it's a long story why I ended up on the bike forums but I'm still here when I'm bored doing uni work.
  • Ok fair enough lol, that would explain why you only appear in the cruddies section :p
