I had been advised to get some rs reba teams for my gt hardtail. The problem is the rebas are not in stock at on one, and the rebas at merlin cycles are too expensive.
Ive seen some pace r39 100mm for £200, and i wanted to know whether they would be suitable for my local trails at cannock chase-follow the dog and the monkey trail. These routes are red routes, with some black route features.
Would these forks be able to cope with that, and are they stiffer than-for example- a low end suntour xcr?
Thanks

I have these and love them. Check the review: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/forks-suspension/product/rc39-xc-fork-9902

Ah sorry, can't help with specifics as I'm more of a general off-roader and don't use official trails. I'm sure someone will be along to advise.

One more thing: i read somewhere maximum tyre size for these was 2.1 inches. I have 2.35 inch maxxis ignitor tyres-will these fit?0

They will be fine, unless you ride them really hard, and are really light. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

I used these forks for about 18 months and didn't get on with them. Went back to Pace for warrenty three times and gave up in the end. I ride Magura now which IMO is a far superior product. Main issue with the pace was excessive stiction. I had the 80mm version and went round the MBR route at Coed-y-Brenin aswell as Snowdon without any more problems that usual. Round Cannock will be fine.
With regards to tyre size, the following pictures will be a guide. This is mine fitted with 2.1" Nobby Nics:
Sorry for the poor quality but these are the only photos I had.
Hope this helps.0
