    He's not retiring is he?

I thought he said that was a mistake after his Milan- San Remo win?

Does Cuddles get to wear it during the race or does he have to hand it in beforehand?

    He hands it in (metaphorically)

  • He'll wear it on club rides and freehub will complain about it because you can only wear it if you ARE actually the world champ....hang on.......

This made me laugh and tempted me to buy one before I start going back on club runs.

Never mind, the polka dot jersey & bib shorts will have to suffice....

Haha, this in turn has made me imagine an entire club run, all wearing rainbow jerseys. Pretty good way to make certain onlookers go puce with rage I'd say!

A couple of years ago I saw a group of about a dozen cyclists in Swansea all decked out in full Banesto kit, which was a slightly bizarre sight.

Isn't there a club in South Wales who's kit is essentially a replica of the Banesto kit. It just was say "Swansea" instead of Banesto. My club used to have a kit which was the same as the old back and yellow ONCE kit...

Edit: I think it's Bynea CC that you might have seen?

I saw a load of riders on my way to work earlier this year all decked out in GB team kit. They even had their mate follow them in a car all decked out in 'team GB Cyling Team'. How sad is that?!?

I didn't see anyone famous like Bhima there though.

yeah theres quite a few clubs who have basically ripped off a pro team design and inserted their name in the gaps. Prob better than some of the home made designs !

That'll explain it then. I did wonder if old Miguel was on his way to a camping trip in the Gower.

No way. I saw them in Beijing - a couple of years back I think it was. Bunch of fanboys. All the gear, no idea.

Someone should put a stop to this sort of thing.

Sad to see that people can't be allowed to enjoy their cycling without being rudely criticised for it. This type of criticism I can never understand - better for them to be out cycling in whatever clothes they choose than sitting on their ass or mugging old ladies.

As someone has said already - WHooooSH.

NapD operates around Manchester. I live and work near Newport. Pomtarr saw these people in Beijing.

    Has the penny dropped yet?

I saw them in Beijing too. What did you see? I was there for two track sessions, seeing lots of GB gold. I also had a torturous time trying to watch the road race (which I think I detailed on here). The Chinese really didn't get road racing.

Rich - sadly I was just bluffing for comedic effect. I've never been to Beijing. Had a good read of your reports though so it feels like I was there - does that count?

Anyhow I live in East London so should be there for the next one! Be rude not to.... Hopefully our authorities will be slightly less paranoid than their Chinese counteparts.

p.s. I'm also not going to be in Geelong.

It did semi-drop on initial reading but not entirely (obviously). However, given some peoples attitudes at times in this forum towards others wearing yellow jerseys, polka jerseys, world champ jerseys, etc....its sometimes difficult to separate what is abuse and what is tongue in cheek jesting!!!!!

and there are still riders in the Bynea who aren't happy that the kit got changed to look that way...I think they defected to the CTC.
