Is buying an RST fork a terrible mistake?

My friend has just told me he has bought a Focus Fat Boy 2010 with an RST Omega-T RL 100mm fork for £499 from Wiggle. I see he could have had the Focus Killer Bee 2010 for £450 with a Rochshox Tora SL 100mm.

Should I tell him to send it back and get the Killer Bee??

Like most brands, they do a range of forks form the budget (like we see a lot of) to the high end (which we see little of). RST actually make some Fox lower castings.
That Omega is not a bad fork, but I'd prefer the Tora.0 -
Thanks supersonic. That seems to be:

Those RSTs are horrible, ive had a go of a bike witht them on and they were extremely harsh no matter how they were adjusted. I don't know how much better, if at all, the RS will be mind, never rode them.0

Both are nice bikes, stunning VFM, the toras are a better fork i think, however, the RST's aren't the bottom of the bargain basement, you could do worse.0

The Tora SL fork is very nice, though if you are a bit on the heavy side like me (15.5 stone) you will need heavier springs fitted.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

if you look at the rrp the killer bee was 750 originally and the fat boy 650 so it makes sense that the killer bee is better as it normaly costs more so your getting more for less cost.0

RST make some nice forks, they are not suntour, but neither are the RS.
Get the ToraWhy would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?0 -
They only have mediums left in the Killer Bee, so your plan will only work if that is the size he wants...Orange Crush 2010
