Deformation or something else?

Problem is simple yet annoying. I have a Giant Yukon FX3 and recently i found the problem why my rear brakes are squeeking like mad. Whenever i sit down on a bike (i weigh 106kg by the way), i see my disk move to the outside and come in to direct contact with the pad. Why? Is the rear triangle of my bike deforms that much when i put my back side on it?

  • That should not happen.

Are you sure the cones are tight on the rear hub?

    Disc bolted/screwed correctly?

Is it an FS? If so are all the pivots tight.

I had problems with my rear wheel before with it becoming wobly even with the quick release tightened. I guess i should start there.

Thanks anyway, at least i know there is something and my weight is not an issue.

Update on the issue. I had the wqhole thing completely wrong.

When i apply pressure (sit on it etc.) The disc starts to come in contact with the non-moving pad, so basically the inner pad. The wheel seems to be solid, but the triangle is slightly deforming, moving outwards ann thus moving the whole disc brake block.

  • As mentioned, pivots loose or worn?
  • Sus bushes/bearings, maybe even the rear QR shaft flexing under your weight, maybe play in the hub as previous, whatever.

Tigtened the pivots, but they don't seem worn. Had the bike only since January this year and didn't ride it hard untill this summer. I guess what is left to check is the rear wheel, QR and see if the problem is there...any chance for a recommendation on which QR to get as a replacement in case mine is flexing?
