its time for me to get some lights for my xc club runs etc. i ride mainly bridleways and paths but some of it is pretty bumpy, im gonna go for a use exposure joystick but i also need a bar mounted light, the head mounted one is a more direct light for where i look so the bar mounted one will have to be more wide. i will also need a back light and i would like all the lights to run off of a rechargable internal battery i ride around 2 hours plus normally and all in all im looking at no more than £250 for everything

any help would be brilliant!

Have a look at the 'What Lights' thread at the top of the 'Buying Advice' page.

As for back lights: Smart seem to do good ones, you won't find many with internal batteries though. Why do you want internal batteries anyway?

  • Check out e-bay, just bought a P7 900 lumen Cree Torch with 2 x 18650 batteries, charger and helmet/bar mount. Seems to be as described and looks like it will do for fast
    singletrack/xc at night.....Only £25

I`ll try and find some links...

Yeah, the P7 torches an magicshine stuff is nuts for the money, and IMHO blows the Joystick away.
  • Try these...

  • The run times on the P7s are around 1 hour so you will need to stop and change the batteriesfor a 2+ hour ride. Its a small price to pay for the big savings you will get. I have just ordered a P7 from dealextreme to run with my exposure light.

You could order 2 P7s for to run side by side for less than you paid for your joystick.

If you are looking for longer battery life and better reliability you could look at the other lights in the exposure range, these are all good lights but the beam is not as wide as other makes (or 2 P7 torches).

Thing is on medium, with the 5 mode, it will last 3 hours, and be as bright as the Joystick ;-)
