just thought I'd let you all know there is a new sportive being organised for April 2011. I am not affiliated to it in any way to the event or club, it's just very local to me and I happened to be talking to one of the organisers the other day. Black route will be challenging but not Fred Witton tough - varied hills some up to 20% - rideable on a compact for an average cyclist. Some fantastic scenery and plenty places to stay. They are saying it's a training ride for Etape Caledonia but the black route is way harder while the red route is a little shorter but easily on par with the EC. Cost is expected to be £25 with £5 going to CHAS.
