i think red suit and probably someone who was in formula 2 or something like that0

this is old news, it was mentioned in not so many words in a HSE document about the richard hammond jet car accident/retardeness.0
-
I'll jet your car in a minute!0

what i cant believe is that the guy has possibly the best job @ the bbc, maybe even in the uk (cept maybe for fhm photographer or frankie sandford's masseuse)
and he wants to chuck it all away so people will recognise him / harrass him in the street.
cnut.
im looking for i job..... *goes to check bbc website for careers*0 -
haha ^^^0

But May says it was him.
But Top Gear presenter James May, who was a studio guest on BBC London when High Court's decision was announced, made light of the situation.Captain Slow wrote:Obviously I'm now going to have to take some legal action of my own, because I have been the Stig for the past seven years, and I don't know who this bloke is, who's mincing around in the High Court pretending it's him.

bet they had dumped him after last season."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Absolutely spot on that man!
I agree with Nick, I think they binned him and he now wants to try and milk it. I can't see any other reason why a judge wouldn't grant them an injunction if he's got it written in his contract unless his contract has finished.0 -

i bet the first "some say....." of the new series will reflect this
Its all nonsense though, we know the stig is a human being inside, itll be fun guessing the next one.0 -
The stuff about Ben Collins has been around on some car forums for a few years now. It won't take long before they suss out the new one..."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

he had already leaked it 'privately' a while back
a student i taught last year had a mum working at rockingham who knew ben a little and it seems to have been pretty common knowledge about his 'other job'
(i also reckon red suit but with a lesser team F1 test driver inside)

id love for it to be mansell or hill next.0
-
wont be mansell - remember his touring car days ?
to paraphrase many a movie - "we're gonna need a bigger car ... "

I think it is the worlds worst kept secret, but most have in the spirit ignored they know who it is.
But I do feel Ben is in the wrong.0 -
its a bit of a shame im assuming he will be replaced though? if so it will be just as cool to have a new mystery.
i hate secrets and really wanted to know who the stig was but as soon as i found out i felt like i was missing out on the mystery. i will make a conscious effort to not find out who the replacement is.0 -
I have a friend also who works in the industry also spends muchos time at Rockingham etc......they are made to sign confidentiality agreements.
That may be ONE Stig....but there are a good few more!!!Ride it like you stole it!0 -

Funny you mentioned it, as I'm Stig's Chinese cousin...

Too old, too many excuses.
Tiff owned Mansell at Donnington in '93.
CLICKY
Shumacher would be the obvious choice, his car control is legendary.
But I very much doubt that the BBC could afford his salary. so I'm nominating Surff Matt......0 -
he's an advance driver you know.0
