what if i realllly really really wanted to.
  • My white ones have lasted ages, but they've been hanging on the wall...

The only solution is to get the ones with decent bearings and service them regularly.
  • I've been riding XC with a pair of mallet 2s for ages now with absolutely no issues with the bearings and I don't grease/oil them at all.

Only problem I had was a snapped spindle after a rock strike and 2 Pure were stunning sending out a new spindle and rebuild kit next day delivery.

Ditto...used to use them when I rode a bit more aggressively. Never had any issues and never had to do any maintenance.

Use Candys and Smarties now and still no issues.
  • really, i've killed the cheap candies in a matter of months, same with smarties and acids.

However the replacements from 2pure had proper bearings and seem to be holding up much better.

They're excellent pedals. Just make sure you maintain them well. They don't take kindly to being ignored.

I've used mine for about 2 years now and they did once seize up a bit once after a wet enduro, but i just sprayed some penatrating oil in the end (didn't even undo the nut) and the next morning they were spinning freely again, and have done ever since, that was at the beggining of the year.
