Hi guys, following advice on the forum, decided to upgrade - has anyone done it themselves?
I realise I need the Park Tool for peening the rivet - do I need a BB tool and will the old 9sp cassette lockring tool work on 11s?

Can't be that hard can it?? Anyone done it??

Cheers!

I've done Super Record on my BMC, plus Veloce a couple of times too. It's not that hard as long as you have the right tools.

    You'll need:

Ultra Torque BB cup tool, or a Hollowtech / FSA MegaExo one (they all have the same splines)
    Cable cutters
T25 Torx head screwdriver / socket head for the ErgoPower shifters
    4mm and 5mm allen keys
10mm hex bit on an extension for the crank axle bolt
    11sp chain tool
Lockring tool - your 9sp one should work ok, I don't think they've changed
Cable end caps - they don't come with the Campag cable set

I got the proper Campag BB tool as it's designed to fit standard 3/8 drive so can be used with a torque wrench. If you don't have a torque wrench it's worth getting one - or rather two - I found one that went up to 45nm for the cassette lockring doesn't go down to 5nm for carbon stem bolts and other stuff with specific but low settings.

Remember you'll also need to rewrap the bars.

Depends on whether you have the tools and the knowledge?
    Cassette lockring is standard Campagnolo
BB tool is standard external bearing e.g. HT2, MegaExo, GXP etc.
Use a KMC 11 speed link - no need for chain tool
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Brave guy, fitting Super Record!
I've got half the tools already, may as well buy more than pay the LBS, who aren't very local.
Wrapping the bars is always the job I make a b@£$%@!±S of.
Thanks for the mail, I'll just order the lot from PArkers and get to it,
    Cheers

I fitted11SR with no problems at all. The BB cup tool is a bit of a pain as it isn't really deep enough to get a good grip on the cups - I used a g-clamp and some wood to hold the tool square onto the cups as I tightened them up.

You can get away without using the Campag peening tool - a SRAM 10 speed Powerlock works perfectly - mine's been fitted for over 2.5k miles with no issues/problems shifting etc.

Personally I find bar wrapping quite theraputic and a nice end to a bike build :)
