I'm in the market for a new drive line set up and found the whole 2 x 10 concept very appealing except for the cost. The idea of 20 fully usable ratios rather than 27 with a few you can't or shouldn't use seems perfect. However it seems that Shimano will only offer the SLX 10 in a three ring set up or XT as a two ring.
Am I really the only rider that wants an SLX 10 2 ring cahinset with a bash guard?

how about 2x9 with an 11-34 cassette?

i run an slx double and bash and have no issues with rubbing in any combination front/ back

    probably the cheaper option too
  • What are the chain wheel sizes on the front that you use? I did note that you are in Flatford but presume that you do go up hills elsewhere.
