my budget build felt compulsion mint sauce special

forks, rock shox tora 302 sl
brakes and shifters, shimano hone dual control
mechs, shimano XT
wheels, superstar hubs and mach 1 rims
chainset, FSA

built up from cheap stuff out the sale and second hand stuff!!
took it for its first blast today round cannock chase and its the best bike I have ridden so far, love it

    Looks good for a 'budget' build, those forks look a little short for the frame, head angle looks a little steep etc

    Ahh, can you not stick a spacer in there to up the travel to 130mm? i know merlin had some 130mm toras for £100 a while ago (i got a pair)

  • I didnt know you could adjust the height of the forks? I am hopefully selling my old car so might have some cash for forks if I can divert some away from our wedding fund!!

    Yeah you can on some forks, not sure if you can on the tora SL or not, sometimes you just put in/remove a spacer, worth posting in the tech section maybe.

  • I will look into that then, it rides ok even with the short travel forks in but I may have some money burning a hole in my pocket!

    pretty good! :) on a bike designed for 140mm forks though, it really needs more than 100mm
    I like bikes and stuff
