Coil is meant to be smoother and a bit plusher, and tougher. But is also heavier and you may need to change springs.
Air is light and very easy to fine tune, but apparently not as plush.
I find my air forks and shock perfectly smooth, but I haven't used decent coil bits. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

Right okay.
I was considering upgrading my air tora 318s to a set of fox 32 vanillas, but is the difference in weight going to be substantial? And will it upset the balance of the bike if I still use a air rear shock?Life's too short to be boring.

The balance won't be affected.
Which Vanillas are you looking at? The basic version is inferior to the Tora 318 in my opinion.0 -

Why? Not arguing but seems a strange claim. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

It was the basic £500 version. Why are they inferior?Life's too short to be boring.
