Sounds like you're in the same predicament that I was 2 weeks ago. I bust a straightpull spoke on my Allez and after a fruitless search online and with the LBS's I bought a pair of Shimano R500s. Last week I bought a longer spoke from CRC and had the thread cut down to suit, £11 including cutting the thread and truing the wheel. Find a LBS that has a 14g spoke cutter.

I went along the lines of looking for the right length spokes, not longer to start with which is why I drew a blank online.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

This is exactly why I recommend people buy handbuilt wheels!

    how old is the wheel?

if less than 12 months, the uk distributor will repair them for free, they did with my ea50 sl's anyway,

    http://www.extrauk.co.uk/

sent my back one away for a broken spoke, came back with a new rim, nipples, spoke and bearings, just cost me postage to send it to them

    just email them

    Hi,
I found this thread while searching for spokes and wonder if you found anywhere selling them ?

I'm the same, a pair of 70X wheels, bought in June 2010, less than 2000 miles and a busted spoke this week. No response from Easton via their website and I'm struggling to find anywhere selling the spokes.

I feel just the same as you, a £300 wheelset which is OOC less than 3 months down the line. My own builds are nowhere near as "bling" as these but at least I get a few years out of them !

Sorry - ranting over now, but did you manage to get anywhere ?

    cheers

    Brian
  • Peter Hansford in Winchester had some longer ones in which he cut down, BTW I did get an e-mail from EXTRA saying that they would fix them FOC a little late though.

    Wow, that was quick !

Thanks for the info, I've googled their website/phone number so will give them a call later on, just in case they can help. I'd better pull out the old one and measure it first though.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it's much appreciated. I never imagined buying something as simple as a spoke could be so frustrating !

    cheers

    Brian
  • Hey Brian no problem. You may need to locate your local Easton Wheel dealer.
  • Buying one single spoke is never easy... the length is not very common either

Some do sell singles on E-bay though... look for DT Champion spokes, they're the same straight pull stuff and easier to find
