Be good for the locals if he does.

    What are the time bonuses?

    20, 12 and 8. I think.

    Martinez is done.
  • nope, he's caught.

    AMAZING POWER

    I love those finishes.

Gilbert too strong and was pushed hard by Joaquim

Only his third win but will be many more I think before the season is out

  • Ha ha Harmon. That's what happens when you watch the clock and not the race.

Jaochim Rodriguez seems to have picked up, where he left off in the Tour.
A very dangerous man for the GC, given the climbs in this Vuelta.
Gilbert displays what he does better than anyone else.

  • puts rodriguez in a good position, taking time on a climb like that bodes quite well.

    Nice finish.

Nibs looking good to get his climb on before the really big hills.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

A nice finish but the TV coverage didn't let us see what happened behind. Gilbert went but what did the others do, watch each other?

I'm tempted to make my PTP pick for the worlds today... Gilbert.

    1 Philippe Gilbert (Bel) Omega Pharma-Lotto 4:06:12
2 Joaquin Rodriguez (Spa) Team Katusha 0:00:03
    3 Igor Anton (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 0:00:13
    4 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo 0:00:15
5 Grega Bole (Slo) Lampre-Farnese Vini
6 Nicolas Roche (Irl) Ag2R-La Mondiale
7 Denis Menchov (Rus) Rabobank 0:00:18
8 Ezequiel Mosquera (Spa) Xacobeo Galicia 0:00:19
9 David Arroyo (Spa) Caisse d’Epargne
    10 Arthur Vichot (Fra) FDJ

Andy lost 14 min    what a disaster! Do you remember a gran campion (Contador, Armstrong, Indurain) doing something similar in a GT?

I think he never going to win a GT, he hasn't stamina to do it.

Andy said all along he wasn't at the Vuelta to win it - he's there to support Frank. He's just keeping his powder dry until he's needed - when they hit the big mountains.

Still - that's a lot of people's PTP pick down the toilet and we're only 3 days in.

I think this may come down to a battle between Menchov and Frank - and if Andy is fresh to help Frank.... then that could be the edge he needs.

Tom Danielson is top man from Garmin. I reckon he might top 10 again in this Vuelta.

Van Garderen also well up there today.

Looks like 4 days of sprint finishes or breaks before two days of mountains. The only exception may be tomorrow, although I would imagine the sprinters could contest

Sounds like Sky have the plague

So Vuelta riders get to travel with their own beds? Perhaps their own toilets would be a better choice.

    Sprinters to contest?
    Don't think so.
Inside info says that the final climb is a killer with a 20% section.

Sky must be drinking T Mobile's 2004 Vuelta orange juice.

It's not exactly the first time that some Brits have gone to Marbella, spent all day in the sun and then felt ill.

The Scandanavians were OK. Those guys have a strong constitution. Guts like garbage disposal units.

Brailsford said one of the strange symptoms of the illness, which started to affect the team on Saturday, is that it strikes unusually fast.
Since when does gastric flu slowly catch up on you?

It happened to the Garmin boys last year mid-race, Danielson was on course for a decent performance until he sprayed his chammy brown.

Awfull camera work throughout with that idiot lead cameraman.
I think the ASO have that French lead cameraman here, who makes cycle racing so boring to watch for me and the general public.
