Guides to riding in the Alps

I'm travelling over to France with the family next year, hoping to abandon them on a couple of days and do some riding. Just wondering if anyone knows of any guides to routes that are available (either paperback or web)?

Hi Bruce,
Try ''Grenoble cycling pages'' website, very informative. Russell, runs the site and lives in Grenoble, there is a forum too that should get you essential questions answered0 -
Oisans tourism do a paperback guide (free from tourist info) or here:
http://www.bikes-oisans.com/oisans-trail-cyclo-21.html
which contains 30 routes around/from Bourg d'Oisans (including Alpe d'Huez, Galibier, etc). Some of them are on very scary "balcony" roads (the one to Les Deux Alpes via Bons, for example) but the views are amazing.0 -
Thanks guys. 2 good resources there!0

I found the following website very handy when planning a trip to the Morzine area for this years TDF
http://www.avorinet.com/activities/avor ... biking.htm
The following link to the Morzine Tourist Office Cycling Guide is also excellent. It details a number of rides in the area taking in some of the well known TDF climbs (Colombiere, Joux Plane, Ramaz, Avoriaz etc.)

Hope this helps.0
