Charge Plug or Genesis single speed?

Hi.
I'm after a single speed for winter and as a fun alternative to my road bikes. Budget's up to £600.00-ish and I want drop bars and clearance with a 25c for mudguards.
I like the look of the Genesis Day One and Flyer, and the Charge Plug Grinder.
Has anyone put drop bars on a Charge Plug Grinder? (I'd convert to BL-R400 levers.)
Thanks.

I've got the 2010 Genesis Flyer. I'm really happy with it - I've put a brooks saddle and leather bar tape on, and its a super comfy commuting and 'just going out for a ride because I fancy it' bike. Very smooth, not too heavy, and handles predictably. I think it looks great too, though it's a matter of personal taste. One thing with the Genesis - I'd budget for an extra £25 quid to change the Shimano brake levers for Cane Creek or similar, as the Shimano ones rattle like crazy on any poor road surfaces.0

Here is my charge plug winter trainer. I love it. Ive also just fitted a carbon for to it.
I ran it all last winter, put in a few thousand miles, and found it very comfy,
Wheels are a bit shite, I have new wheels on it I built since the photo was taken, but original wheels asted a winter of heavy use.
Have you considered a cross bike for the winter?0 -
Have you thought about the Ridgeback Solo - currently on sale at £399 at Evans. Looks like a great bike and I nearly bit - before going for a somewhat more pimpy Kona Paddywagon.
The Solo has drops and full guards already fitted.Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.0 -
Can't speak for the other bikes, but I have a Plug and love it. Rock-solid handling, but still feels quite nimble.0
