I would say 54cm, if you look at the Q and A on Wiggle that's what they say too.

That's weird do they measure differently? I ride two 54cm and I'm 5'8". As to Colnago Ace, seems very very expensive and just Veloce groupset? I'd want carbon centaur for that
    Say... That's a nice bike..

They are sloping geometry so they do measure differently.
I am 5` 8 and have a 52cm sloping Colnago and it's a little bit big for me.

  • Thank you for the input. I went to the wiggle site and sure it says that I should go for size 54 cm. I will need to try the size as it is bloody expensive. I will let you know if size 54 cm fits. It was mentioned in one of the reviews that the different size is because they measure from the centre of crank to the top of the seatpost and not to the centre of the seatpost (not C to C).

Can't see why it's £2200 :? FSA chainset not veloce, cheap wheels £120. ok full carbon. I wouldn't pay full retail, at £1500 much better, even so at £1500 a smidge too much...

I ride a 56cm Specialized Allez too and I would go for a Colnago in a 54 sloping - it seems the closest fit geometry wise. Let us know how you like it if you get one. Have fun.

You really can't generalise about sizes, between makes or between people of the same height. People of the same height can have completely different inside leg, arm measurements etc. Then there is personal preference, do you like to be stretched out or do you prefer a more relaxed position?
The only way to be sure is to try the bike.
For info. I am 5ft.7in. and have a 52cm Colnago CLX and I find it fits me perfectly, I could have lived with the 50 but it would have been a little cramped. In my experience the top tube is the most important element to get right.
    Good Luck[/u]
  • Evans are now selling this bike for £1699 and I think Chain Reaction have it for even less...

The spec does seem a little lightweight for the rrp but at £1699 or lower than it must be a good deal? it scored well in the bike of year review with 9/10 I think the frame is very good despite the wheels and cheaper groupset????

wasn't on my radar before but at that price it now is, any one ridden/own one?

£1500 on chain reaction, I posted a link. Certainly wouldn't pay £2200 though checking on Ribble you can get full Chorus carbon for that

I've just bought one from CRC at the sale price and I'm very happy with it.

It is very comfortable and the handling is superb, it really is a joy to ride especially when you get it moving and it soaks up the bumps in the local French roads effortlessly. The finish is excellent with a quality paint job and the FSA finishing kit is good, especially the compact bars which I really like. It's my first bike with Campag and after a few teething problems getting it set up, it seems to get better and better each ride.

For info, I'm 5' 9" with a 81cm inside leg and I bought a 50s as the geometry is almost identical to my old bike. I've swopped out the 110mm stem for a 130mm one to match my old bike as I'm ape positive and as I've said I find it to be very comfortable.

I fully understand that I could have bought X bike with Athena or Y bike with Chorus or Sram Red, but for me I chose to buy the Colnago as it is a top quality frameset that I can upgrade the components on, rather than the other way round.
