They said this was impossible. But I took no notice of the unbelievers. This afternoon I have proved them wrong...
Take some Just-Rol shortcrust pastry, roll it out and make a pie base:

Place this in the oven at 180 degrees for 15 mins.
Whilst this is baking, mix the following together:
100g Glace Cherries
150g Chopped Walnuts
2 oz self raising flour
2 oz butter
1 oz demererererera sugar
2 medium eggs

The mixture is then placed int he pie base once it's been baked and then cover with the pie lid:

Bake in the middle of the oven for an hour at 180 degrees.
Your pie-Cake should then be cooked, but test with a sharp knife first.
How it looks straight out of the oven:

Taken out of the baking tin to cool:

The first slice:

Okay, so it doesn't look that nice, but It's dammed delicious and, there's not much left...

I have faith in the D. I have met this man, and witnessed his being a genuine epic legend, worthy of centuries of fables.
If I was El Cap, I'd be quaking in my spd shoes right now.0 -

All hail Capitano!0 -
Hmmm, I quite like the idea of this. Might try this myself.
Does it have to be a recipe you come up with yourself, or can it be one you found on the interwebbos?0 -
WOW! Despite the date on that, MY idea has taken off like wildfire!0

It's a US site, therefore I blame the date difference on the different time zones. Everyone knows the US is 6months 3 weeks and 4 days behind the UK.
Pake remains your idea.0 -

unless it contains waffles, I'm not interested!0
