Which would you go for. I have found a very comfy pair of bib shorts, so I was thinking of just adding thermal leg warmers, or are bib tights "better"?
With regards to leg warmers, are they all much of a muchness are does anyone have any recomendations?
Thanks

leg warmers are a cheap way to extend shorts into cold weather, and if it warms up later in the ride you can revert to shorts
when it gets really cold some proper winter tights are better
i've got some castelli narcisista ones, warm and superbly gaudy, but i think they are indeed much of a muchness, main thing is to check they have good grippers to stop them slippingmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Bib shorts are made for winter specifically, and therefore always will be thicker and protect you better.
I wear shorts and leg warmers (which always seem to be just lycra) in the autumn but always go to bibs when it gets very cold.0 -

Lycra shorts have minimal thermal properties - ride for 3-4 hours in winter and your 'old man' will become a frozen button mushroom (so I heard!). Santini, Northwave, Pearl Izumi all do bib shorts made from 'roubaix' type of material, but if you're serious about winter training, decent bib tights are a must.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
