    Smooth operator!

AS just panicked though. I remember reading a crime thriller a couple of years back and one of the key characters is in a real rush to get something critical done. His mantra at the time is; "I'm in a hurry, slow down". This is to stop himself getting all fingers and thumbs. I apply this logic regularly and it works wonders.

More than just panic though, he was going up a bloody mountain, not peddling along on the flat. Top marks to the lad in the vid, but you can't do that going uphill!

Granted that AS needed to dismount. One aborted re-start and a further 10-15 seconds later and I think loss of composure was a big factor. Hardly surprising given the circumstances but costly.

Oh also the boy looks good. He even had the composure to give a strong victory celebration with the pack tearing down on him!

If you look at the side of the road, he was going uphill...

Not if you tilt your laptop.

If I tilt my laptop he's going up an even steeper hill and leaning heavily to one side!

It was impressive but he was not on a mountain.

I'm now toying with the idea of taking a little netbook with a webcam out with me when I ride. If I tilt it correctly it'll be downhill all the way.

You techie types. I have a spirit level on my sloping top tube. I am almost always riding uphill and yet I can regularly maintain speeds in the high teens / low twenties.
Consequently, almost all running repairs I make are done on uphills.

I noticed he was by the fact he popped the chain back onto the small chainring
