Cannondale CAAD9 Made in USA - Build Quality Problems

Just brought one of the last USA built CAAD9 frames and the build quality is so terrible that I have had to return it. Will now have to wait for a CAAD X Made in Taiwan 2011.. I suspect the US factory workers are hardly going to do a good final job if they will be out of work
Anyone else had problems or noticed slipping quality?

Indeed, what was so terrible about it?
  • Terrible finishing around the BB30 bottom bracket, terrible finish around frame where the headset meets (completely offset and not flush), resulting in dodgy steering. When compared with taiwan made frames (welds aside), the tolerances are not great. This Made in USA is marketing hype... perhaps i had a bad one but still very disappointed after such a long wait.

You must have had THE bad one. What do you mean by 'Finish'?

    Did you take any pics?

That sucks, my CAAD5's frame is a work of art.

The 'finish' is the way the frame is 'cut off' which looks like it's been done with a junior hacksaw - very ragged, no paint, and so uneven the headset and bb30 bottom bracket are not even aligned. Looks very shoddy.
