Must remember that engineering solution aka bodge. Other than a normal shimano BB tool and hold it into the splines of the BB cups with a crankbolt, assuming you have a spanner type BB tool and not a 1/2" drive type tool.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Crank colt you have though you might need a washer and a 12" adjustable and a length of pipe to increase the torque you can apply to the tool.

Sounds like the orignal ownner has mashed the threads.

Cant you undo the drive side crank and remove the bb from that side

IIRC the non drive side just buts up to a cartridge bb

as long as the new bb is the same type/size should be ok?

or once the bb has been removed from the other side could you not burn it out? and clean the threads with a bb tap?

this is worrying me now that the old owner has mashed the threads of the frame, well i hope it is the BB that has been mashed. fingers crossed..

like said above remove from the other side then cut out the cup and get the LBS to chase the threads out.

Or leave it to the LBS to do all the sorting.

LBS job, not worth the hassle doing it yourself. They will have experience of this sort of thing and the right tools to fix it.
