  • Is it me or do people not seem very friendly on here?

'Post pics in the Readers Ride's section PLEASE might be nice?

I have just read a couple of other threads on here and it appers that if your not in the crowd then you may as well go elsewhere.

I am pleased I have a new bike, I wanted to show you all.

VERY sorry if its not in the right place!

The forum rules are there for everyone. It might be a good idea to check out a few forum dos and don't before posting anything. Kind of like an internet etiquette.

No problem. I did look at the do's and dont's when I first joined but I honestly didnt realise that MTB 'General' wasnt the correct place to post a picture of my new bike!

    I will move along then....!

it is an ace looking bike were the orange coloured stickers an upgrade or is that how they come as standard?

dont feel pushed out, we are a friendly bunch really, i promise. me especially, i love people

as for posting a picture, go to your link, right click the picture and look in properties, this will give the loction of the actual image, not of the page it is on and if you put that info (cut and paste it from the properties) between the tags and the pic should appear.

    More like spit-roast.
  • The orange coloured decals were a personal upgrade

I dont feel pushed out but I try my hardest educating my 2 year old the fact that manners cost nothing and I just like to see them even on forums!

Apologies to anyone else reading, i dont want to generalise that you are not all friendly.

Anyway, enough said. I have moved over to the readers rides bit. :)

Im having exactly the same problem, people pissing on your parade because theyve been here longer and think they know everything about mountain biking

It was your post I had read mate :)

Nevermind Pal, I have found though that out on the bike EVERYONE I have met has been friendly.

I agree with you by the way

Yeah out on the trail i've never had a problem, MTBers seem in general to be a friendly bunch, i think its just because the internet is faceless that it happens.
  • People might be a little friendlier if you didn't throw your toys out when it's pointed out you've missed one of the fourm rules. You know the forum rules? The ones right at the top of the page that say "Read me before posting".

You come across as being rather snippy bad tempered youself. bennett_346

I asked a fairly average question a few weeks ago, i was met with cheeky and arrogant responses, so i tried to explain better what i mean and was told i was a pussy for not wanting to be clipped in for hard descents when im first learning SPDs. This evening i asked if my new SPD shoes were easy to clean and was rudely told that i was trying to cover up bad technique and that i shouldnt have spent £100 of my money trying to get better at the sport, so i again tried to explain why i thought i was doing the right thing and it was half an hour before i was even told how to correct what they were saying i was doing wrong.

I'm sorry if i come over as bad tempered but this sort of thing really gets to me!

Well, it may look as if some people are harsh. In this case head to -Crudcatcher- and laugh your head off. Then you will realise half of trolls aren't really that serious, but many do want to give their best advice possible even if it may not work for you.
On the other side though, have you met these people in real life, the whole conversation may be a bit different.
    What could have been (Video)

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though

Same thing here. Annoys the crap out of me when people convince themselves that spending money will make them better.
