It probably just gave you a quick nibble...

Nah, you can eat wasps. Someone I know got thrown out of a cookery lesson for eating a wasp. Obviously, they removed the sting first...

it definitely isnt a sting as it didnt pierce the skin, but felt like the little sh!t gave me a nip somehow.

The one time I wore a dress, it flew up it! Thats it, enough of being a girl, back to being a tomboy for me!!!

Would still have thought it would have left a puncture mark. My back had like a red irrritated patch/rash but no lump or broken skin. Still sore today though so the thing did something!!!

Pics of what me in a dress or me getting attacked by a wasp?

^ and in today's class we leant....
  • As a short aside, there is a funky wasp that preys on cockroaches. Cockroaches have a ‘scuttle’ mechanism when a light comes on or they’re threatened (quite obviously). However, when attacked by this particular wasp, the wasp stings the cockroach in the thorax and causes it’s front legs to temporarily buckle. As the ‘roach collapses forwards, the wasp stings the ‘roach for a second time, this time using a very precise sting into the ‘brain’ of the cockroach and injecting venom. This turns off the ‘scuttle’ mechanism, whereupon the wasp leads the placid cockroach to a selected hole / borrow, where the wasp lays an egg inside the cockroach. Grisly but very cool!

How mint is that! sting to the brain..ewwwww

Sometimes they just leave some larvae and they crawl up the nearest orifice...

Its fine, we washed the area about 10 secs after it happened. And that wouldn't have hurt, I'm in pain here people! Still a mystery then!

Yee, fantastically pointed out. I don't believe the dress section of the story myself :p

And i think they can bite, but its has nothing toxic and shouldn't leave anything other than maybe a smal red mark for 10 minutes or so as far as i know.

on the wasp thing - whats the best mass way of killing them if you cant find their nest?
tried the jar with a bit of jam, sugar and water. then got that raid spray stuff tho i think the wasps have adapted.

    FIRE!

I found that a wasp had just started building a nest- one match and a tin of WD40 later = no nest.

You should be careful though... some of them may be able to dodge the flames and attack you.

and ants. Ant infestation, put a cheeto or similar on the floor, leave for a few mins til infested with them, then, deoderant and lighter the hell out of them.

Leave burnt crisp there, the smell of ants on fire means they don't come back. Stangely Febreeze is a good ant killer.

We have a wasps nest somewhere in the building at work, little buggers always coming in the window. Dental Disinfectant is particularly effective!
