What do you guys use to clean your helmets

My new fullface, after a few very hot days of riding has started to smell funky. What do you guys do to clean your helmets? Do you take out all the pads, soak em in a laundry tub of soapy water and throw em on the deck to dry? or do you have some sort of helmet spray you use on the pads after every ride to kill bacteria like I see them do at the rental shops? Is there a helmet specific cleaner out there? or is it just a some sort of non toxic household cleaner?

Just whip the pads out, throw them into one of those string laundry bags (or a couple of old style washing tablet bag thingies) and put them in the next low temp wash.

Use soap and water.
On topic, I use a little bit of muc off for the bike helmet, take the pads out, wash them and stick back in. I've got quite a few spare sets of pads too, so I can just swap them over when needed.
For full face helmets, would bicarbonate of soda work in the same way it does for trainers?0 -
I wouldn't put a helmet in the washer to bang about and have lots of impacts in the washer drum personally....0

Hehehe
I think they mean they take the pads out of the helmet ant then put them in the washing machine (the pads). Not the helmet itself0 -

I put mild water in a wider bucket, some detergent, mix it up, put the helmet in,
rub it with my hands inside and out, and it's all fresh and good.0 -

When read in the wrong context that is hilarious!
