Is it true that mini V-brakes work with STi shifters? Would you need to run a travel agent witht them?

I use Campag linear pull (i.e. mini V) brakes very successfully with Tiagra shifters, no travel agent required. What you do require though is some form of cable adjuster, I have adjustable noodles. Without this you can't set the pads close enough to the rims as well as being able to release the brake for wheel removal.

The setup works as well as the regular brakes on my road bikes.

You can see the adjustable noodle here:veloce.jpg

If you have travel agents you can use full size V's, though two travel agents will cost you around £35.

In line brake cable adjusters might do instead of adjustable noodles http://www.singletrackbikes.co.uk/produ ... _Adjusters

I have mini V's on my CX bike with STI's, no issues with the normal set up. I do use top mount levers as well, and these have the adjuster on.

Do you have interrupter / auxiliary brake levers with an adjuster or just the sti levers?
