  • I've got a pair of the Slice and a pair of the top of the range Santani carbon bibs. FWIW the Slice are the better short of the two (the front on the carbon shorts is too high). Just the right length, comfortable, insert is fine, well made and the shorts have a small rear pocket. Pretty good value compared to a lot of the stuff around. Hope that helps.

What are the shorts like for leg length, what other brand of shorts have you used?

  • Somewhere in the middle of the overlong Lusso and very short Assos/Campagnolo. Brands: Lusso, Assos, Endura, DeMarchi, Santani, DHB (longs) and Campagnolo off the top of my head.

I've got two pairs with the top insert. Liked the first so much I bought a second pair - they've lasted many wears and washes. Can't fault 'em.

When I'm next suitably flush, I'll def invest in another pair - poss with the slice insert. 8)

I've got some Santini Top. I like them, but they are a bit short on the leg by 3-4 inches.

The Top shorts have the TOP chamois, which is the one they used in their top end shorts before they started with the gel pads. I've not tried the TOP model, but the gel pads are fantastic. I have two pairs, and they are the best shorts I own. Worth the money :)

I've got 3 pairs of the Top Bibs. They last well, look good and I find them very comfortable. I haven't been able to convince myself that I need to spend more than the £45 that these cost....

Mine most definitely are not! They're between medium length and short, tending more towards short. I guess it comes down to your shape though. Based on the Prendas sizing guide I was a Small according to the weight, but a Medium for height. I went for the Small and they fit well apart from being too short for my liking. Pretty sure Medium would be baggy on me.

Santini shorts are probably the best value for money shorts out there (imo).
The slice ones are excellent, mine are 3 years old and lycra ony just starting to show signs of wear, pad is still perfect, so probably going to be my winter shorts under bibs now.
Prendas ciclismo normally have whole range available.
