anyone suggest a system like the Arcam Solo Movie 5.1 that costs a little less?
Also looking at the Nad Viso 5, but other that this I'm struggling to find any others? Surely all the other major players will make similar?
Currently got Marantz DVD player and 5.1 amp seperates, but coming up 7 year old and starting to show there age. I'll intend keeping my Mordaunt Short 5. speakers.
One box is better so it take up less space!
cheers hifi gurus!

well I'll consider up to the £2k of the Arcam, but it appears that the Arcam is the dogs danglies up to that price anyway.
£500 would be better though!

TBH after the NAD Viso you are then looking at all in ones with speakers and sub included.
I would still go separates and send about 1K.
200 on a BD player and the rest on an amp."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I know what yor saying Nick & I'm inclined to agree - its what I have now!
OK then an amp that is smaller than a bus (Marantz SR5400)! Don't need HD audio, digital 5.1 is good enough for the home.0 -
Seperates all the way, I have to agree. I still use 5 channel sound, works well. I used to have an SR4000 lol, massive things. Also use a Marantz CD player. My set up is a 2 plus 3, with a dedicated hifi amp, the surround proc in the DVD player, and a yamahe 3 channel amp. This way I get good hifi sound too, as never been overly impressed with the sound through digital multi channel amps.0

If I could find a DVD/Amp combi that takes up the same amount of space that my current Amp doesI I'd be happy!0 -
