Depends on how much you want to spend...I have a Thomson stem on mine which is ubber cool with the standard Monkey Bars...the Hope are nice also...these will cost around £70 or secondhand Thomson about £35 on ebay..you could get some nice carbon bars...barnsley cycles are doing FSA carbon pro's for £34.00

Other than that basic FSA, Merlin Cycles sometimes do bar and stem combo's cheap.....also try the biggies like CRC,Wiggle, Evans and Wynstanleys are near all have sales on

depends if you want new or s/hand

Easton for the bars, new or s/hand. EA70 is good alu bar, monkeylite carbon if you want lighter.

Thomson/Syncros/Nuke Proof/Sunline et al for the stem, again new or s/hand. Beauty is in the eye and all that... they're all solid.

The main thing to think about is bar width and stem length, as you have the opportunity to alter the bike's characteristics by tweaking these.

    I run a 700mm Easton EC70 DH carbon bar and a Sunline 65mm stem

Yep, ned to know what sort of dimensions you are after. Also do you want to err on the side of more strength, or less weight. Also what budget?

Hard to beat the Exotic stuff.

Why do you want to change them?
Is there something specific your trying to acheive?
How much are you prepared to spend?

Throw us a fricken bone here! :D
  • Well thats the thing.... i dont know what will be best suited on a Marin Mount Vision 5.8 :? i want it to be on the light side , but still have a strong feel about the handlebars. And the stem needs to be longer as my one now , doesnt give me the full stretch of the arms. Price wise , im looking to spend about £50 for the two , and i would happily accept secon hand goods :)

    Hope that helps

What length stem and bars are you used to, or have?

why do you want to stretch your arms?

what length do you currently have?

    we need more data!

stem length is about how the bike steers, not just your position on the bike.

If you stick a long stem on then you might be all stretched out and fast but it'll handle like a oil tanker.
