I went out on friday and bought a new Iphone 4 (£119) then bought some cases etc of amazon (One was £3 odd and another £1.96)
Went and got a mini statement then and it says on 20th(Friday) 96p was with spent via card but nothing about the Iphone,Case and the other £1 for the screen protectors.
All the other daysare correctand my pay went in on fri early hours.
There was easily more than enough to pay.
Wtf is going on? Has themoney not been taken out as its only taken £50 out (Which i withdrew on saturday)!
:?

  • It's only monday, it's only one working day since you make the transaction. Some retailers are quick and some take forever. The money is probably earmarked - that wouldn't show on a mini statement.

I had a part delivered from Merlin on Saturday, the payment came out this afternoon.

I've had the same with my local filling station, I've usually burnt half a tank of fuel before I've even paid for it (ie 4 hours  )

It would appear not all transactions are instant.

  • heres a tip.

If you put your card in the atm and type your pin in backwards, you actually put money INTO your account.

    Truth.

It often depends on the type of card and the vendors merchant software, you should have a shadow on you account for the authorised funds if it is debt card so availible balance is the umber to check.

  • I bought a Stumpy FSR Pro frame a few years back form a well known bike shop. It never appeared on my credit card and I don't have the account anymore!

I also spent 30 minutes on my mobile to my then girlfriend who was in Zimbabwe at the time - never got a bill for that either!

Morrisons have my money on a saturday but I don't actually pay for it till tuesday. Most supermarkets are next day, Sainsburys take 3 months :D Spent £5 on the card once and it took 3 months to be deducted from my account.

Lucky is forgetting to take home your weekly takings from your business the day your house gets done over by naughty people. My sister says she is a lucky person...I am starting to believe her

I heard a rumour that if you put your pin in backwards, it still gives you the cash, but also calls the police to attend the cash machine....so if you are held at gunpoint....you can alert th epolice without the attacker knowing..

    course it doesn't work...... :D

Post it so I can see what a palindrome looks like, I've never seen one.

Disclaimer for those on the forum lacking sense, any faith in common sense or a sense of humour - that is not my real PIN. That's 1234 of course.

i once got charged from the local wetherspoons about 6 weeks after actually going there. apparently they have up to 3 months or some such random time frame to take your cash

i queried it the day before i flew to ibiza but when i found out that it was just from there i said it was ok, the bank then mistakenly cancelled my card and i had no cash in ibiza for a week!!!!
