Anyone know where I can get "replica" oakley jawbones. I don't care for a quality lecture because imo they are fine as i've had replica radars before. Thanks

No idea, but I'd not pee around with fakes on the bike. Have you tested that they block the UV ? Cos if they're just dark and not taking the UV out - your pupil is dilating and letting even more UV through.

Plus if they shatter with a stray stone - thats not gonna be a good outcome.

Beat me to it! I got some fake Oakleys in Turkey. haggle and you'll get them for a couple of quid. Just stick them upside down in the vents on your helmet for that professional look.

I've got some Bolle Contour safety specs for cycling though

You could always buy some authentic ones .

That way you achieve the look you want, you get the quality and you dont look like a pleb wearing fakes.
  • Good to see that you value your eyes. I can think of anything more stupid and then asking online....

If you want to spend a few quid I am sure you can get some bolle glasses.

If you can't afford the real thing why bother? Do you ride a fake bike as well or is it stolen too?

proper protection, and look cool too. Plus they are very comfy!
  • Sorry to hijack your thread, but I feel it's slightly related. Are there any quality sunglasses that can be also be worn casually? I personally feel that the jawbone is specially for cycling.

I wear these, they look cool both on and off the bike. I first noticed them in an ad in a Daily Mail supplement opposite the article I was reading on how illegal immigrants are affecting the quality of milk.

go to decathlon and buy some glasses that will cost the same as fakes but be much better quality...and you won't be laundering money for some drug cartel or organised crime

Plus if they break, you can take them back to decathlon and complain

Oakley half jackets work well off the bike and pretty good on the bike but obv not as good as the m frames or radars.

I use half jackets with an xlj lense on the bike and a standard lense off it.

Of all the things I buy and try to find the best deal on since buying oakleys I always think they are worth the money. Everyone I let try them who is wearing cheap sunglasses is amazed how their eyes relax when they put them on.

Jawbones may be a stretch too far at £200 but Half jackets at £80 is maybe worth your while.
  • Go for Split Jackets, they look the same and are much cheaper...

lens coverage on the split jackets isn't so good, I get a lot of light bleed through under the frame.
  • I havent had any problem yet... very odd.

I use Bottlecaps or Splice Oakleys on or off the bike. (Radar for road, Splice for MTB)

I have Gascan or Scapels at other times

I saw jawbones on this site under AAA and under non AAA too. http://www.fakeoakleys.org

I bought from them and they came on time, free shipping and were very nice quality for replicas. Very impressed I was.

If you want to save some $$ this is not a bad place to search.http://www.fakeoakleys.org

    haha guys! 2 posts now.

I saw a guy asking where to get fake Oakleys in my searches and offered to help that person out. oh oh thats so bad! lets all make a joke of it and put in our little comments since the more posts I have the more of a person I am. But thats what the cool thing is to do on forums.... lets make the newbie feel stooopid.

you guys just go on doing what you think you should do in "Forum" culture and give your self a little pat on the back for your demoting comments.

 I do have real oakley radars but I wanted a fake pair as a) I like the look of oakleys b)wanted to see if there was a noticeable difference between 150quid glasses and 7quid replicas.
I don't want a cheap looking pair because despite how bad it sounds, image does kind of matter (to me anyway) and as a student I can't afford four or five sets of Oakleys.
Those I have seen say they do offer protection against UV rays so i blooming hope so.

Fake bike? Would that be something along the lines of an unbranded frameset that someone like you would turn their noses up due to being brainwashed by the main brands? I ride a tcr advanced with 303s for what it's worth :)

Can't understand why someone who owns authentic Oakleys is even asking that question :?

I was always told that crap glasses were bad for the following reasons:

    a) would not stop uv rays (if they said they were a brand they were not, they could lie about that as well).
    b) they were unlikely to be focus neutral and could hurt your eyes if you wore them for prolonged periods
    c) were more prone to shattering and breaking and causing damage to the eye
    d) were poxy, cheap and illegal
    e) It was better to be the sort of person that couldn't afford a brand and didn't give a stuff than someone who effectively lied about it.
    f) were more likely to fall apart/scratch/look shabby.

Also, apparently the eyes are the organ most donors put down as the thing they don't want to be transferred to someone else/available for research. I certainly wouldn't want anything to happen to mine.

    each to their own though.

Blimey - the counterfeit oakleys are more expensive than I spend on my 'real' Bolle's...
