Ok I have a Scott Aspect FX 15 full sus bike which i haven't abused in any way shape or form although i would love to but ain't got the cahoonas to do so anyway to the point i have noticed the bike has been recently creaking along the top tube and not really anything major HOWEVER when cleaning it today i have noticed that there is a crack on the top tube near the weld where the seat post is, the paint is cracked on both sides, I really want to take it back to leisure lakes in local area but don't want to look a tit when they tell me oh its nothing but wear and tear on the frame or something along those lines. I have looked online to see if there has been any other problems with Scott frames and have found a couple to which are now starting to worry me as both times the frames have gone back to Scott and then returned to the customer stating that the damage is unwarranted!

If you have a crack in your frame contact the retailer, see what they suggest. If the frame is fairly new and doesn't show the other signs of a thrashing they'll find it hard to refuse to sort it.
On the scale of stupid questions asked in a bike shop, "is this a crack in my frame?" will not make you look like a tit.
You could post a photo, see what people here think.0 -

looks bad to not use it until its repaired but i don't think you'll get a warrantied repair out of them unless you can prove others have had the same problem.
How old is the bike ?
I'd be going back to them stating sale of goods act etc not fit for purpose.Boardman Comp.

I wouldn't be using that TBH- If it goes suddenly (as aluminium does) its gonna hurt.
I'd take it back0- as long as the rest of the bike looks in fair condition it shouldn't be a problem.0 -

Take it back to the shop, it's not a stupid concern at all and if leisure lakes (i'm guessing the one in Lancaster?) are any good then they'll be more than happy to look over it and send it back to scott if it's a problem. What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0
