Whats the cruddite record for overspending?

Just wet to order some tubes and a punture repair kit - ended up getting a fox tee and some new riding baggies as well...totaling £70.

My personal record was at uni. sold a saracen to a friend at went to buy a £300 hard tail.
Ended up buying a trek VRX full sus (twas amazing til i broke it) for around £900!

i think i have a problem.

blimey, that is quite an over spend!!!!

id say you over spent by atleast 700 quid
  • I tend not to put a price limit on things. I find that results in me never overspending. It also results in me being poor though.

Which is obviously why I don't ride a FS.

i don't usually overspend but i guess overtime my bike is nearly £300 more (and will be £400 when i get a wheel) the original build. when i overspend it's usually not that much

Went into a shop to buy a book fancied the girl behind the counter asked her out on a date. It ended up costing me half my house when we divorced. Possibly the worlds most expensive paper back book and it was a bloody gift for someone who I dont particulary like.

I have to agree, seeing as I have currently have around £0, and will have to wait until october for my student loan before I can afford a fs. It will mean forgoing either food or alcohol for a few months, and it will probably be food that goes...

I do this alarmingly regularly- not only bikes, the four best (or worse):

Most recently - needed to repalce my SLX cranset (£90) - brought a raceface atlas AM - £240

Was looking at upgrading my forks, wanted £300 rebas, came out with £650 Fox F-100s!

Wanted to get a cheapish video camera for moutain biking, brought a £800 Canon EOS DSLR!

was looking to upgrade the speakers on my Hi Fi for ~£250, spent around £800 on new amp and speakers!
