Does my rear tyre need changing?

Hi,

Basically on a few segments of my rear tyre it looks like the top part of the rubber is dettaching from the side wall, which you can see on the photos.




It's fine for short journeys but do you think I should replace it before I go on any long rides? Has anybody elses tyre started to split like this.

That red bit of what looks like the carcass doesnt look very good. I'd get a new pair mate.

Ok thanks for the replies. Yeah I think it's probably best to change it now and avoid the hassle of an on the road problem
