Advice on 'cheap' wheels for SS build

Hi All,
I am thinking of using my old Dyna-Tech strada 401 titanium frame to build a single speed runaround. I've been looking for deep rim wheels as cheaply as possible. Saw some Charge wheels - but a bit expensive. Then found these Espresso ones on Ebay:

I would appreciate any advice/comments on these or alternatives that I could look into.
Many thanks.

Don't think those e-bay wheels will fit.
Your Dynatech rear hub spacing is probably 126mm (maybe 130mm) between the inner faces of the dropouts - the over lock nut dimension. The e-bay wheels are listed as having a flip flop hub so are likely to be 120mm OLND as on track bikes and off the peg fixies.0 -
Quando hubs IME are awful - cheap cup and cone with little sealing - lucky to last a winter. Try and find some made with Formula (Ambrosio / Systems EX /planet-X ) hubs with cartridge bearings - easy to replace if they wear out. Some have long-enough axles to be replaced for 126 or even 130mm drop out - assuming your frame has sloping road drop-outs too i.e. not vertical, otherwise getting chain tension adjustment could be tricky.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Do you have a budget in mind? Why not go for whatever fits, or is there a reason why you want deep dish rims?
You could always go for a nice handbuilt set. A Surly flip flop hub is about £70 new, maybe a nice rim DT Swiss 1.1 rim.....
If your frame is 126mm spaced then you can use a 120mm hub with 3mm spacers each side.jedster wrote:Just off to contemplate my own mortality and inevitable descent into decrepedness.
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.0
