Just got a Logitech X-530 sound system to attatch to the X-box for the young un.
Problem the only connection possible it seeems is to get rid of the loverly HDMI cable and fit in the scart connector, run the yellow lead through this then the red/white to the sound system.
I don't have red/white sound leads but will ordinary HI- Fi leads do from the telly to the X-530 system ( monster cables name not size ). Enabling me to put back the HDMI cable. I did try this but couldn't get the sound to work. Am I missing something?
Cheers for ant thoughts
Ps the telly is a samsung flat screen

as far as I know.. the only way to use a HDMI from a console with a sound system is through a HDMI pass through system or optical.0

Yes, ordinary hifi leads from the telly to the soundsystem should be fine. They don't need to be monster cables. NOTHING ever needs to be monster cables.
I reckon MS dropped a bollock on this one. On the PS3, you can connect the console to your TV via HDMI, and still use the other connector for audio as well, but you physcially can;t on the Xbox.0 -

Big waste of a 5.1 system if you're just using the hifi leads.0

Yeah I no but the system was cheap but we want the hdmi cables functionality but it seems crackers that Xbox do things this way, might take the composite lead apart to make it fit

Check on eBay, you can get the AV thing cheap so you can use both HDMI and Optical.0
