Just committed to JOGLE in May of next year..........

http://joglemay2011.blogspot.com/

and am anticipating LOTS of aches and pains
before during and after the ride!
Anyone got any tried and tested remedies/drugs
to alleviate/eliminate the anticipated agony!
Shammy cream, Ibuprofen, ralgex, is what I was
planning on taking, but any/all suggestions welcome!

If you can't contribute a magic potion,
then at least contribute some money!

  • Tub of baby wipes to keep you clean when no shower to be had.

I use Bulldog moisturiser which is all natural skincare for fellas, has a nice slightly hippy patchouli smell to it as well.

I also take a tube of 99.9% Aloe Vera gel with me - great for general skincare and especially good as an aftersun lotion.

Reskin's around me chafing bits! - helps stop jock itch.

and a white sage smudge stick for general cleansing of body, mind and spirit.

General stretching of the limbs before and after cycling help to allieviate any potential cramps/problems with muscles - keep as warm as possible once off bike at the end of the day.

I use Elete electrolyte in my water supply and definately feel the benefits of this.

Train properly for it and get a bike that fits properly and you shouldn't have to worry about pain. I used a bit of chamois cream for a 300km/day LEJOG - nothing else.
    More problems but still living....
  • As soon as you reach Scotland be sure and buy some insect repellent. Don't bother buying any this side of the border. Scotish midges drink the stuff by the cupful.

Taking too many things will weigh you down and you need to think carefully of ways of condensing all your needs.
