I've just bough a focus thunder which comes with the 100 -140mm travel SF9 Epicon XC TAD 15QLC fork. when the bike was delivered the fork seemed very soft and had much more sag than the 28-35mm reccomended in the suntour manual. I've used a shock pump to increase the air pressure but I have reached 180psi (max air pressure according to manual) and the sag is still measuring 48mm. my weight is 85kg so I cant understand why the sag is so much more than it should be. Is there something wrong with the fork or are there other factors I havent taken into consideration? does anyone have any experience with this fork?

Also, I can't seem to see how the remote travel adjust lever works? anyone used this one?

Sounds like something is messed up. I had mine at 5 bar (72 PSI) and it sagged to about 18mm when I was on it (I weigh about 55kg with my gear on).

Pull the lever, compress the fork, then release the lever.

Yep - read that and tried that. guess must be faulty or not installed correctly. could faulty travel adjust have anything to do with too much sag :?:

How are measuring the sag, with a zip tie?

If so, are you sure you aren't knocking it every time you get on/off the bike

Yeah, using a zip tie. being sooooooo careful and gentle getting on and off and consistently get a measurement of 45-50mm

    Thanks for your thoughts.
It seems there is nothing obvious I am missing so I'm sure must be a problem with the fork. I've e-mailed the shop and will wait to hear what they can do. just means the weekend of riding my new bike which I had planned is out the window :(

Just removed the cable from the remote travel adjust mechanism and now the fork works perfectly! have dropped the pressure back to 100psi to achieve corect sag and all seems good (other than not having the travel adjustment still)
