Stretched ears question?

Basically i'm doing a public service course at college and interested in joining the forces in a few years time, now i have spoken to a careers advisor and have been told that you will not be eligible to enrol with stretched ears until the hole has reverted to the size of a standard piercing, so i was just wondering how high can you go before it is irreversible and if any how long roughly until the specific size reverts back to near closed.
Just to clarify i dont have my ears pierced so no digs :roll:

For a more sensible answer, please look below.
Stretched ears must be considered as a permanent body modification (like tattoos) as there is no guarantee that the piercing will shrink back down. That said, being sensible and stretching wisely the majority of stretched piercings will close up. Most 'experts' suggest going no larger than 6-8mm if you want it to return to something of a normal size (1.2-1.6mm)

My tunnel was only 8mm, it looked normal after about a week.
A friend who I did training with was in a band and had 16mm tunnels. His ears did not shrink back to normal, it looked pretty silly with gaping holes in his ears. But he was still able to join the army.0 -

You could just cut the lobe off then there would be no hole. Problem solved

It makes you wonder about the Armys' thinking when they stop you joining because of a couple of small holes when their whole reason for wanting you is to get you full of holes in combat.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!
