Advice on a hardtail!! please

Hello all,
i'm just getting back into mountain biking after doing some of the 7 staines trails in south scotland. unfortunately my bike is not as adaptable as me...therefore i'm in need of a good hardtail, however i'm only looking at spending £300ish because i'm still a student.
Any advice is appreciated

just got into biking and got

both reasonably good hard tails for your budget
the outpost is heavier but so am i
the cb comes very well kitted out cept the pedals which are a bit cheap and nasty 0 -
Cheers for the advice, i'm deciding between the trek and a mongoose i found for £3200
